ELAC revisits a golden era with a turntable to mark its 90th birthday.
In the 1970s the ELAC Miracord turntables reigned supreme. ELAC celebrates this golden era with a return to the turntable market.
Before many of the turntable brands that are known today were even founded, from the 1950s to the 1970s, ELAC lead the world in turntable manufacture. The last Miracord turntable left the production line in about 1985. 2016 is ELACs 90th anniversary and to celebrate this they have returned to vinyl with a new record player. In fact Wilfrid Werner, the designer (and the uncle of the current quality manager Thomas Werner) who worked on the last Miracord turntable came out of retirement to assist the R&D team with the new design!
